Perfect Blend Marketing & Design Inc.
Terms of Service
- Updated October 23, 2026
- Ontario, Canada
- Plain language
- No lock-in
These are the terms for everything we do with you: our websites, the client area, WordPress hosting, domains, Care plans, the Client Tools and our design and branding projects. We wrote them to be read, not skimmed. If anything is unclear, write to info@perfectblend.biz before you buy and we will explain it in plain words.
On this page
The short version
Your first year of hosting is free
One WordPress hosting plan per client, applied automatically. A saved card is needed, and it is not charged until a payment is due.
Every sign-up is checked
You confirm your email and we run automatic safety checks before a hosting account is built. Most accounts are ready within minutes.
Late invoices pause, never surprise
Reminders on days 1, 7 and 12. A pause on day 14, removal on day 60, and a backup kept 30 days after that.
You are never locked in
Cancel any time. Download your site, database and email whenever you like, and we help you move if you ask.
Who we are and what these terms cover
Perfect Blend Marketing & Design Inc. is an Ontario corporation (corporation number 1155612-6) based in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. In these terms, “Perfect Blend”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company. “You” means the person or organization using our websites, holding an account with us, or buying something from us.
These terms apply to:
- our websites, perfectblend.biz and my.perfectblend.biz (the client area);
- WordPress hosting, email hosting and the Client Tools included with hosting (WordPress Tools, cPanel Tools, backups, the Password Vault and AI Updates);
- domain name registration, transfer and renewal;
- Care plans, update tokens, Priority Support and change requests;
- design, branding, voice alignment and web design projects, together with the written quote or statement of work for each project.
Where a product has its own terms (for example The Quiet Studio), those terms apply to that product and these terms fill in anything they do not cover. Where a written quote or statement of work says something different, the quote or statement of work wins for that project. Response times and support promises are set out in our Service Level Agreement, which forms part of these terms.
By creating an account, placing an order, paying an invoice or ticking “I agree” at checkout, you accept these terms. If you accept on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm you have the authority to do so.
When these terms take effect
This version applies from October 23, 2026 to new accounts and new orders. For services you already had with us, it applies from November 23, 2026, 30 days after we emailed you about it. Until then, the previous version continues for those services.
Your account and signing up
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. Keep your contact details current in the client area so invoices, renewal notices and security notices reach you. You are responsible for everything done through your account, so keep your password private.
Two-step sign in. Every client account can turn on two-step sign in with an authenticator app under Account, then Security. We strongly recommend it, especially if more than one person uses your computer.
Confirming your email. We send a confirmation link when you sign up. Nothing is set up until you click it. Each link works for 60 minutes and only the newest one works, so if you ask for a new link, use that one. You can send yourself a fresh link from the client area at any time.
Safety checks on new sign-ups. Automated sign-ups are a real problem for hosting companies, so every new sign-up goes through automatic checks before we build a hosting account. They look at things like how the form was filled in, whether the connection comes from a data centre, VPN or Tor, how many sign-ups have come from the same network, and basic facts about the saved card from our payment processor (for example, whether it is prepaid). The checks are run by our own systems; they never decide anything about you beyond whether an account is built.
- Most
Ready in minutes
Once your email is confirmed and your card is saved, most hosting accounts are built automatically within a few minutes.
- Some
Held up to 24 hours
A sign-up that needs a closer look waits up to 24 hours and is then built automatically, unless we decide it should not be. We email you if this happens.
- Few
Not accepted
A sign-up that clearly looks automated or fraudulent is not accepted. You are not charged, and you can write to us if you think we got it wrong.
Sign-ups that are never confirmed. If an account is never confirmed and has nothing in it, we close it after 7 days and delete it after 30 days, after reminding you by email.
You may add team members to your WordPress site and to your client area. They act in your name, and you remain responsible for their use of the services. Tell us right away at info@perfectblend.biz if you think someone else has used your account.
Orders, quotes and when a contract starts
Hosting, domains and plans bought online start when you complete checkout, your sign-up passes the checks above, and we accept the order. Most orders are accepted automatically. We may decline an order that looks fraudulent or that we cannot serve well, and we never charge for an order we decline.
Projects (design, branding, voice alignment, web design) start when you accept our written quote and pay the deposit it asks for. Quotes are valid for 30 days. Anything not written in the quote or statement of work is not included, and we tell you before any extra work is charged.
Descriptions, screenshots and examples on our websites give you a fair idea of what you are buying. They are not a contractual specification.
Prices, payment and renewals
Prices are shown in US dollars. If your account is set to Canadian dollars, you are billed in Canadian dollars at the prices shown for that currency. The “Show prices in” picker on our website only converts prices for your convenience at the day’s mid-market rate; it never changes the currency you are charged in. Taxes such as HST are added at checkout where the law requires.
Invoices are due on the date they show. You can pay by credit or debit card through Stripe, or by bank transfer where we offer it. When you save a card with us, renewals are charged to it automatically on the due date unless you turn automatic renewal off in the client area before then.
If an invoice is not paid, this is exactly what happens. Nothing is ever deleted without warning.
- Day 1
First reminder
The day after the due date.
- Day 7
Second reminder
With a link to pay in one step.
- Day 12
Third reminder
A last note before anything changes.
- Day 14
Service paused
Visitors see a holding page. Nothing is deleted, and it comes straight back when the invoice is paid.
- Day 45
Final notice
The last email before removal.
- Day 60
Service removed
We keep a backup for 30 more days, so a word from you before then still brings it back.
We may charge reasonable collection costs on amounts that remain unpaid. We may change our prices: a change for an existing service takes effect at its next renewal, and we tell you at least 30 days before a renewal that costs more than the previous one.
The free first year of hosting
Every new WordPress hosting plan comes with its first 12 months free, no matter who built your website. The free year is applied in the cart automatically; there is no code to enter. It covers the hosting plan itself. Domains, Care plans, tokens and anything else in the same order are paid as usual.
The free year is for one plan per client. If you have already had a free year with us, a further plan is billed from its first invoice. After the free year, the plan renews at its normal price for the billing term you chose, and you can cancel before the renewal without paying anything.
A saved card is required
The free year is an offer for real websites, so we ask for a saved card before a free plan is built. It is not charged during the free year. We may also review a free order before the hosting account is created, and we may end a free plan that is used for anything listed in “Using the services responsibly”.
If a free plan goes quiet. A plan is alive when, in the last 90 days, someone signed in to the client area, WordPress, cPanel or a mailbox, its files or content changed, it had real visitors, or its email was in use.
- 90 days
A friendly note
No sign of life for 90 days.
- 120 days
A second note
Any sign-in resets the clock.
- 150 days
Paused
A holding page, nothing deleted. It comes back the moment you sign in.
- 165 days
Final notice
The last email before removal.
- 180 days
Removed
We keep a backup for 30 more days.
A plan that was never set up at all (no website, no files, no mailbox used) is removed after 60 days without a sign-in, with notes at 30 and 45 days. There is nothing on it to lose, and your free year stays yours. Clients with a Care plan or any paid service are not subject to this rule.
WordPress hosting
What you get. Hosting on servers we lease and manage ourselves, tuned for WordPress and Elementor, with the storage, websites and email accounts shown for your plan. Plans include free SSL certificates, daily backups, server-side caching, weekly malware scans, security updates to the server, and the Client Tools described below.
Fair use. “Unlimited” bandwidth and email mean we do not meter them for ordinary websites and mailboxes. If a site uses far more processing power, memory or email than a normal website of its size, we contact you to find a better fit, which may mean a larger plan, a dedicated server or moving the site.
Email sending limits. To protect everyone’s email from being marked as spam, each hosting account can send up to 300 emails an hour, and a new account up to 60 an hour during its first 30 days. That is plenty for ordinary business email and website forms. Bulk or unsolicited email is not allowed from our servers; for newsletters, ask us about a proper sending service. If you have a genuine need for more, write to us.
Backups. We back up every hosted website and mailbox every day and keep 30 days of them. Through cPanel Tools you can restore a website, a mailbox or a database yourself from any of those backups. Backups are a safety net, not an archive: please keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Uptime. We aim for 99.9% availability each month. Our Service Level Agreement explains how it is measured and the credit you receive if we fall short.
Changes we make. We keep the server software current, which means PHP versions and other components are updated over time. We give notice of changes that could affect a site, and test updates on a private copy of your site first wherever WordPress Tools allow it.
Your content. You own your website, its content and its data. You give us only the permission we need to host, back up, cache, scan, update and support it. You are responsible for having the rights to everything you publish.
Client Tools, updates and AI Updates
Hosting includes our Client Tools: WordPress Tools (safe updates, passwordless sign in to your site, temporary access for helpers, maintenance mode, activity history), cPanel Tools (email, backups, domains, DNS and files), the Password Vault, and a dashboard inside your WordPress admin. We keep improving them, and we may add, change or retire a tool with notice.
Safe updates. When WordPress Tools update plugins, themes or WordPress itself, we first try the update on a private copy of your site and compare its busiest pages before and after. If something looks different, nothing happens to your live site until you decide. A safety copy is kept for 30 days so an update can be undone. Updates are written by the plugin and theme authors, not by us, so we cannot promise they will never change how your site behaves.
AI Updates. On websites we built, you may connect an AI assistant of your choice through the connection we set up for you. The assistant acts with the access you give it, and you are responsible for the instructions you give and for reviewing what it changes, as with any team member. We can help you set limits, and we log what changes.
Shared plugin licenses. Some websites use premium plugins (such as Elementor Pro) under a license that belongs to Perfect Blend. We can share it with your site while it is hosted with us. The license stays ours, is not transferable, and is removed automatically if your site moves to another host or your hosting ends.
Domain names
We register, transfer and renew domain names for you through our registrar partner. You are the registrant and owner of your domain. Registrations and renewals are final once placed, because the registry charges us immediately, so domain fees are not refundable.
Domains renew automatically when you have a saved card and automatic renewal is on, which is the default so a domain is not lost by accident. You can turn automatic renewal off, or transfer a domain away, from the client area at any time, subject to the registry’s rules (a domain cannot be transferred within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer). If a domain expires, the registry may charge a redemption fee to bring it back, and we pass that fee on.
By registering a domain you agree to the registry’s and registrar’s policies, including ICANN’s and, for .ca names, CIRA’s, and you confirm your contact details are accurate. We offer ID protection on domains that support it so your personal details stay out of public records.
Care plans, tokens and change requests
A Care plan is a monthly or yearly subscription that includes update tokens, maintenance, backups, reporting and Priority Support as described for the plan you choose.
Quick token
Up to 5 changes
For small edits. The number of changes is the only limit, on one page or many.
Detailed token
Up to 20 changes
For bigger rounds of updates, on one page or across your site.
Tokens included with a plan arrive each month, and unused ones roll over for one month. Tokens you buy separately never expire.
Change requests are sent from your client area or your WordPress dashboard. Each request is a complete, final list: you tick that it is final before sending, and extra changes start a new request. Work starts when the request is covered by a token or by a paid invoice. We tick off each change as it is done and tell you when it is ready to check. After 7 days the request closes by itself.
Redesigns, new features, custom integrations and new pages are not part of a Care plan unless the plan says so; we quote them separately.
Design, branding and web design projects
How a project runs. Each project has a written quote or statement of work with its deliverables, timeline and price. We start when the deposit is paid. Dates depend on receiving your content, feedback and approvals when they are due. If a project goes quiet on your side for 60 days, we may close it, invoice the work done, and reopen it later as a new quote.
Revisions. Each stage includes the rounds of revisions the quote says. Changes beyond those, or to work you already approved, are quoted before we do them.
Your materials. You give us the text, images, logos and other material we need, and you confirm you have the right to use them.
Ownership. Once a project is paid in full, you own the finished deliverables we made for you: the design, the brand assets and the website. We keep ownership of the methods, frameworks, templates, tools and code libraries we bring to every project, and you have a permanent licence to use them as part of your deliverables. Fonts, stock images and plugins are licensed by their owners on their own terms, which we tell you about.
Showing our work. Once your project is public, we may show it in our portfolio. Tell us in writing if you would rather we did not.
After launch. For 90 days after launch we fix, at no charge, anything in a website that does not work as the statement of work describes. After that, fixes and changes are covered by a Care plan, tokens or a quote.
Cancelling and refunds
| What | How it works |
|---|---|
| Hosting and Care plans | Cancel any time from the client area or by writing to us. It takes effect at the end of the current billing term and nothing more is charged. The unused part of a term already paid is not refunded, unless the law requires it or we end the service for a reason other than your breach. |
| Domains | Not refundable, because the registry charges us immediately. |
| Projects | Deposits are not refundable once work has started. If you cancel, you pay for the work done so far and we hand over what is complete. |
| Priority Tickets and After-Hours Emergencies | Refunded in full if we miss the promised first-reply time, as set out in our Service Level Agreement. |
| Our mistakes | If we charged you by mistake, or a service was not delivered as described, write to us within 30 days and we put it right by refund or credit. |
Ontario consumers. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002, or any other law that cannot be waived.
Moving away and what happens to your data
You are never locked in. You can download your website, database and email at any time through cPanel Tools, and we help you move to another host if you ask.
When you cancel a hosting plan, the site is paused at the end of its term and kept untouched (files, database and email) for 30 days, so you can download a copy or change your mind. Then it is deleted along with its backups. When a plan is removed for non-payment or under the free-year rule, a backup is kept for 30 days after removal. Shared plugin licenses are removed when the plan ends. After a plan ends, the client area still shows your invoices and history.
Using the services responsibly
Our servers are shared by many small businesses, so a few rules protect everyone. You may not use our services to:
- send spam or unsolicited bulk email, or collect email addresses for that purpose;
- host malware, phishing pages, or anything meant to break into other systems;
- publish content that is illegal in Canada, including content that infringes copyright or trademarks, defames someone, or exploits children;
- run cryptocurrency mining, proxies, or anything that mostly uses server resources rather than serving a website;
- create accounts automatically or in bulk, or use false details to get more than one free year;
- try to get around the limits of your plan, access another client’s data, or interfere with the Client Tools;
- share your account or resell our services without our written agreement.
If we see a breach of these rules we normally contact you first. Where a site is harming the server, other clients or other people, we may suspend it immediately and tell you afterwards. We may remove or disable specific content when the law requires it or a valid complaint shows it must come down.
Our website and your use of it
The design, text, images, videos, frameworks, names and logos on our websites belong to Perfect Blend or to the people who licensed them to us. You may read, share links to and quote our material for personal and non-commercial purposes with a credit to us. You may not copy our websites, frameworks or materials to build a competing product or service.
Our websites may link to other websites; we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Some links may be affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy through them at no extra cost to you. We may change, suspend or take down parts of our websites at any time.
Confidentiality
Each of us keeps the other’s confidential information private, uses it only for the work between us, and shares it only with people who need it for that work and are bound to keep it confidential. This does not cover information that is already public, that one of us already had, or that the law requires us to disclose. The duty lasts while we work together and for two years after.
We treat your website data, email, Password Vault entries and anything you mark as sensitive in the client area as confidential. We access your website or files only to provide, support or protect the services, or when you ask us to.
What we promise and what we cannot
We promise to provide our services with reasonable skill and care, as described on our websites, in our Service Level Agreement and in your quote. Beyond that, our services are provided as they are. We cannot promise that a website will never be down, that a plugin author’s update will never change something, that search engines will rank a site in a particular way, or that a design will produce a particular business result.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from our services in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for those services in that period. Neither of us is liable to the other for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost data that was not in a backup you could have kept, or lost business opportunities. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
You agree to cover us for claims that come from your content, your use of the services in breach of these terms, or your instructions to us.
Ending the agreement
You can end any service as described in “Cancelling and refunds”. We can end a service with 30 days’ notice, or immediately if you seriously breach these terms, if an invoice is more than 60 days overdue, or if the law requires it. If we end a service without your breach, we refund the unused part of what you paid. The sections on ownership, confidentiality, liability and governing law continue after the agreement ends.
Changes to these terms
We update these terms when our services or the law change. We post the new version on this page with its date, and for changes that affect an existing service we email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree with a change, you may cancel the affected service before it takes effect and we refund any unused part of what you paid.
Governing law and settling disagreements
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If something goes wrong, talk to us first: most problems are solved with a conversation. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, either of us may take it to the courts of Ontario, sitting in Toronto, which have exclusive jurisdiction.
These terms, our Service Level Agreement, your quote or statement of work, and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the services. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may transfer this agreement to a company that takes over our business; you may transfer it with our written consent, which we will not refuse unreasonably.
